Choosing your new health club What do you want from your new health club? In the following few paragraphs we list some of the questions we believe you should be asking of both yourself and the club you are about to join.

What facilities do I really need?
This relates directly to what you want to achieve. All our memberships provide use of all the facilities within the club (excluding creche, sunbeds and personal training). Facilities between our clubs do vary – quite considerably, so please visit your local club to have a thorough look round prior to joining.

What do I actually want to achieve?
Our Fitness Team are here to help you achieve just what you want. Whether this be general fitness, fat loss, sports specific training or whatever, we will do our best to determine your needs and meet your requirements. If you want to achieve results, we strongly advise you make use of our fitness expertise so ultimately you get more from your membership.

What times can I go to the gym?
Opening times vary between clubs so please ask your local club for exact times, baring in mind we have reduced hours at weekends and on Bank Holidays. Some of our clubs also operate restricted memberships for reduced fees, so please ask for restriction information prior to taking out one of these memberships.

Do I want professional advice?
Throughout our clubs we have a dedicated team of professionals who are able to offer a variety of advice and services. Just some of the services we offer include Personal Exercise Programmes, Nutritional Advice, Body Stat Testing, Fitness Testing & Personal Training.

What is included in the basic membership cost?
All our memberships are all-inclusive. This means that there is no additional charge to use the core facilities on top of your monthly subscription (excludes sunbeds, beauty treatments and Creche where applicable).

Do you have a trial period to try out the facilities?
We firmly believe that you require more than one day to determine if we are the right club for you and whether you'll be happy here. Therefore we offer trial memberships.

Is there car parking?
Our Ivybridge Club offers FREE members only parking. Our Plymouth Club has a number of convenient council car parks nearby.

How much is it to bring a non-member?
Friends & family may be brought in for a nominal fee (£7 per day). Additionally Guest Passes are available to purchase in bulk (10 Visits) for a reduced fee - please ask your club for the current price.

Do I get professional advice on using the equipment when I join?
Our Fitness Team provide a thorough introduction to all the equipment to ensure you are 100% comfortable prior to joining.

Are there periodic reviews of my programme and fitness?
Depending on your level, ability and personal goals, your programme and fitness will be reviewed regularly. As a general rule this is normally carried out every 6-8 weeks.

What qualifications do the gym staff have?
All our gym staff are fully qualified in Fitness Instruction and Exercise Prescription to industry recognised standards. Additionally, select staff at each club are qualified in alternative areas of expertise such as Nutrition, Weight Management, Fitness Testing, Personal Training etc.

What (fitness) classes do you have?
Group Exercise Classes vary between clubs. Please contact your local club for full details.
